System Requirements

The software and hardware required to run the demos are listed below:

  • A Libertas Hub that has been initialized.
    • Download the Raspberry Pi image of the Hub here.

    • You will need
      1. A Raspberry Pi 2, 3, or 4 board.
      2. A microSD card as main storage. A size of >= 16GB is recommended; 8 GB is the minimum.
      3. A nRF52840 dongle as the wireless transceiver. It costs about USD 10.
      4. A USB thumb drive as the backup storage. The Hub must have dual storage backup.
  • At least one nRF52840 dongle as the device (apart from the transceiver). The dongle costs about $10 each.
    • Download and install the “On/off Light” firmware for the nRF52840 dongle. The firmware emulated an on/off light.
    • The device dongles must have joined the network of the Hub. The “devices” screenshot below demonstrates a Hub and three dongles (as on/off lights).
